St Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores Support Community Programs in Ottawa
St Vincent de Paul has resale stores in many communities throughout Ontario and Canada. These stores provide people the opportunity to donate slightly used clothing, furniture and household items for the benefit of the poor. Some of these items are sold to the general public. Many of these will go to the poor at no cost to them. Any profits will also go to benefit those in our communities who are in need.
St Vincent de Paul has locations on Merivale Rd and Wellington St West, in Ottawa, that allow us to fund programs to help Ottawans in their time of need. Please help us help the most vulnerable in our community by donating today.
We are proud of the other programs St Vincent de Paul stores in Ottawa help fund locally and around the world.
Home Visitation Community Program
From the very beginning and throughout the Society’s 175+ years of existence around the world, community programs known as home visitations have been at the core and heart of the work of Vincentians (lay members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul). Although Ozanam, our founder, was open to all forms of charities and the Society has responded to new and changing needs by establishing Special Works, home visitations continue to be the way that most Vincentians choose to make person-to-person contact with those in need.
